Few Servers is a website for people, an API for developers and an MCP server for AI assistants. All three read the same data: 33,027 MCP servers from the official MCP Registry (read 10 Oct 2026; 894 have their own page) and 41 server providers (facts read from each company's own pages, latest 12 Oct 2026).
What you get, and what you do not
- Only fields we hold. Descriptions are the publisher's own text. Install details are what the registry record says. Provider facts carry
source_url,read_dateand the quoted text. - Dates on everything.
read_dateandlast_seensay when we read a fact. Quote the date when you repeat a price or a star count. - No ratings, no security score, no "best". Being listed is not a safety check.
testedis true only for the 3 servers we installed and ran ourselves.github_starsis GitHub's number for the publisher's own repository, read on the date shown. - Free for now. Basic search is free with a rate limit. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
MCP server

Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http fewservers https://www.fewservers.com/api/mcp/
Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)
Open Customize, then Connectors, choose Add custom connector, give it a name such as Few Servers and paste https://www.fewservers.com/api/mcp/ as the remote MCP server URL. No sign-in is needed. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it under Organization settings, then Connectors. Menu names as in Anthropic's help article, read 12 Oct 2026; which plans can add custom connectors is listed there.
Cursor
Add this to .cursor/mcp.json in a project, or ~/.cursor/mcp.json for every project (Cursor's MCP docs, read 12 Oct 2026):
{
"mcpServers": {
"fewservers": {
"url": "https://www.fewservers.com/api/mcp/"
}
}
}
VS Code
Add this to .vscode/mcp.json in a workspace (VS Code's MCP docs, read 12 Oct 2026):
{
"servers": {
"fewservers": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://www.fewservers.com/api/mcp/"
}
}
}
Any other client
Send JSON-RPC 2.0 messages with POST to the endpoint. Each request gets one JSON answer; there is no session and no event stream.
curl -s https://www.fewservers.com/api/mcp/ -H 'Content-Type: application/json' -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"search_mcp_servers","arguments":{"query":"postgres","limit":3}}}'
submit_listing goes to the same moderated queue as the submit form. If the queue is not open for MCP submissions, the tool says so and stores nothing.
JSON API
Base: https://www.fewservers.com/api/v1/. GET only, JSON, CORS open. Paths end with a slash (the form without it answers with a redirect). The machine-readable description is at /api/v1/openapi.json.
Search MCP servers. q, category, transport (remote or local), official, tested, limit (up to 25), offset.
curl -s 'https://www.fewservers.com/api/v1/mcp/search/?q=postgres&transport=local&limit=5'
One server, by slug or registry name.
curl -s 'https://www.fewservers.com/api/v1/mcp/servers/io.github.upstash/context7/'
Install details, as published in the registry record.
curl -s 'https://www.fewservers.com/api/v1/mcp/servers/io-github-upstash-context7/install/'
Alternatives: other servers in the same category. The order is a stated rule, not a recommendation: tested by us first, then the vendor's own servers, then GitHub stars.
curl -s 'https://www.fewservers.com/api/v1/mcp/servers/io-github-upstash-context7/alternatives/?limit=5'
Search providers. type (cloud-vps, dedicated, bare-metal, gpu, colocation, hardware-vendor, managed-hosting, edge-cdn), country (name or two-letter code), max_price (lowest listed monthly price, as listed in USD or EUR, not converted).
curl -s 'https://www.fewservers.com/api/v1/providers/search/?type=cloud-vps&country=DE&max_price=10'
One provider.
curl -s 'https://www.fewservers.com/api/v1/providers/hetzner/'
Categories for category: databases, cloud-devops, monitoring, dev-tools, browser-web, ai-memory, productivity, communication, finance-crypto, data-analytics, security, marketing-sales, commerce, media-design, files-storage, location-gov, health-education, other.
Limits and privacy
- 60 requests a minute per address, for the API and for the MCP server. Over the limit you get HTTP 429 with a
Retry-Afterheader. The limit is counted in memory on each server instance, so treat it as a ceiling, not a quota. - API answers are cached for up to an hour. The data changes when we rebuild the site, normally once a day.
- No cookies. No IP address is stored. For MCP calls we log the tool name and the time, nothing about the arguments.
- Errors are JSON:
{"error": {"code": "...", "message": "..."}}with 400, 404, 405 or 429.
Use and attribution
Use the data in your own tools. When you show it to people, link the listing (listing_url) and keep the read date next to prices and counts. MCP server records come from the official MCP Registry; provider facts link to the page they were read on.
Add or fix a listing
Submit your MCP server, add a provider, or claim a listing from its page. Free, and a person reviews it before it is published. Questions: hello@fewservers.com.
